I made this random personality test site while I was doing visits to the university psychologist. It's meant for giggles and isn't serious.

This day and age, being rude and inconsiderate of others are celebrated as being real and authenthic. Most see it that way because the act of prioritizing ourselves and not stopping to think how we affect others is perceived as "main character" energy- Wednesday Addams is a fictional character best depicting this idea.
Setting aside how blatantly problematic that view is, let's focus on a much wider point that comes alongside with it: how being kind is so much harder than being rude (but so much more worth it!). It is SO MUCH easier to only think about what is best for you and dismiss others solely on the basis of asserting "boundaries". Which I found to be ironic 'cause the people who use that excuse are mostly self-serving to begin with, aka takers and not givers like it was intended.
Wanna know why the phrase "love yourself first before others!" was invented and shared across social media? It's to empower people pleasers, doormats, and anyone who lacks self-confidence 'cause they put too much value in other people's opinions over their own. It's NOT for selfish people to hide behind and use to justify their self-serving attitudes.
Yes, genuinely caring for others is hard; not prioritizing yourself all the time is hard; stopping to think of all the ways you can help make life easier for the person in front of you IS HARD. It's always so easier to resort to self-preservation and to look after your own needs without giving a single damn about others.
And so lots of us choose to be selfish. We elevate ourselves by mocking others with our "sarcasm" (which isn't even funny and only memorable bc of how crude it is); we make ourselves look cool at the expense of others; we're the funny and interesting person now because we just don't give a damn 'bout others.
Some people get away with acting like this and some do not. Some do 'cause they're ignorant and have certain social allowances that they think "fuck it. If I can, why not?". Some don't either 'cause they don't have those allowances or they just can't 'cause that's just not them. Either way, I feel like the world would be a much better place if more people choose to be kind to each other 'cause when you do, you're not only making someone else's day but it'll also make yours a little bit brighter!
